Crossing Lines 2011-13, is the transformation and interpretation of personal photographs taken at the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit at the Musée des Beaux arts de Montreal in 2011. It 'crosses the line' between haute couture culture, photography, and painting. These works lend themselves to a series of contrasts. The original subject matter – over-the-top fashion design – is contrasted with simple line and shape. The shapes are both organic and geometric. The multidimensionality of the original subject matter is replaced with only a hint of perspective and depth. Each canvas acts as a 'window' into the realm of colours, shapes and forms that surround us in our daily lives.
